Job Summary
SDC Trading Ltd. is seeking qualified and dependable Bar Server(s) to work beverage operations at our vibrant venues across Greater Manchester that regularly host large events, weddings, receptions, and various social functions for a diverse community. As the Bar Server, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and responsible bar service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hospitality, and customer service.
Specific Duties
Bar & Cellar Responsibilities
- To operate the bar in an efficient, professional, and safe manner while providing an excellent standard of customer service and hospitality
- To ensure that all areas of the bar are kept clean and tidy by confirming that staff complete a rota of duties to support all aspects of the overall operation including performing the beverage services yourself, as needed.
- To ensure all cash floats and cash takings processed within the guidelines laid down by your supervisor.
Health & Safety
- To ensure that you are familiar with the risk assessments and safety procedures for the events and activities for which you are responsible.
- To ensure that all health and safety procedures are communicated to staff and users and are always maintained in operational practices.
- To familiarise yourself with and follow all the health and safety guidance and instruction contained in the company’s ‘Supervising Premises and Managing Crisis Handbook’
General Good Practice
- While in the undertaking of your duties, you are to conduct yourself in an orderly, honest and sober state in addition to monitoring staff to ensure acceptable behaviour.
- Ensure the bar is well presented, stocked and products are effectively displayed to maximise sales opportunities and profitability and instil confidence in customers.
- Carry out all reasonable requests made from time to time by Bar Supervisor which enhances the Centre’s reputation and service to the local community.
Required Experience
The post holder(s) must be willing to work on a flexible basis and be able to function seamlessly within and supervise a small bar staff. They must be rapidly adaptable and able to make decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have the confidence and competence to be accountable for the security of the building, manage all cash transactions within company guidelines and ensure Health & Safety measures are equipped, understood, and followed.
