Position Overview

American Dream Coaches is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Overnight Dispatcher to support our overnight operations. This role ensures drivers are prepared, responsive, and on time before morning routes begin.

This position requires strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to act independently when issues arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively text drivers in advance to confirm they are awake and prepared for their scheduled pickup

• Call drivers who do not respond within a reasonable timeframe

• Monitor schedules and handle overnight issues when needed, including:

• Driver call-outs

• Bus breakdowns

• Swapping drivers or buses

• Utilize company scheduling software to review routes, drivers, and vehicles

• Communicate clearly with drivers and management regarding any changes or concerns

• Document actions taken during your shift as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate scheduling software

• Excellent communication skills (phone, text, and written)

• Comfortable making phone calls and addressing issues directly

• Strong common sense and problem-solving ability

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently overnight

• Not afraid to ask questions and learn company processes

Compensation

• $144 per night (8 hours)

• Opportunity to increase to $176 per night as additional responsibilities and tasks are taken on. There is an opportunity to work 6 days per week, and some weeks you can work 7 days

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bus Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation operations. The ideal candidate will manage bus schedules, monitor vehicle locations, and ensure timely dispatching of buses to meet passenger needs efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze operational data to optimize routes and improve service quality. The Bus Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining smooth fleet operations and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch bus routes using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Monitor real-time vehicle locations via GPS and GIS tools to ensure adherence to schedules.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, maintenance teams, and passengers through multi-line phone systems and radio communication.
• Manage scheduling adjustments due to delays, traffic conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to dispatch activities, vehicle status, and route changes.
• Utilize analysis skills to evaluate operational performance and recommend improvements for efficiency.
• Oversee freight, shipping & receiving, and fleet management processes related to bus operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during dispatching activities.
• Handle inquiries professionally using phone etiquette and clear communication skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with GIS, GPS tracking, transportation planning, logistics, and supply chain concepts.
• Strong analysis skills for evaluating operational data and optimizing routes.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing, and working with multi-line phone systems.
• Knowledge of freight management, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Experience with 3PL services and AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Prior dispatching experience in transportation or logistics is preferred but not mandatory.
