Cafe cook - no late nights

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques, with the ability to create delicious meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

We are looking for someone to run 5 kitchen shifts a week, 8am start time for baking shifts. We have a lovely brunch menu and make all our cakes and sandwiches in house. Whilst this is a kitchen role, successful applicants must be aware and willing they will be expected to also run food/drinks, serve customers, clear tables and do dishes as needed. Upkeep of cleanliness of kitchen equipment and the cafe is also expected.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and cooking ingredients as required.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring they are cleaned and stored properly after use.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cook in a cafe or similar environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• A passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes that delight customers.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
