Care Assistant (Nights)

Job Summary
Emmanuel House Care Home is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our Night care team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or through home care services, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and the ability to follow care plans effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents or clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support individuals in maintaining their independence while providing necessary assistance.
• Follow individual care plans to ensure tailored support for each person’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of care.
• Drive clients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.

Skills

• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential for effective communication.
• Strong communication skills to engage with residents, families, and colleagues compassionately and professionally.
• Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
• Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation electronically.

Other information:

• We are recruiting 1 x Night Care Assistant working 33 hours per week on a Rota basis including weekends, public holidays & the festive period so a flexible approach to working is essential.
• Night shifts hours are 8pm-7am
• Any offer of employment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check - please ensure that you have the appropriate ID to complete the DBS process before applying for this role.
• ID required: Passport, Driving License, Birth Certificate, Bank Statement or Utility Bill
• You will also need to provide 2 x Employer references from your most recent jobs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 44 per week
