We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter Apprentice (2nd or 3rd Year) to join the Buildings team at the Sherwood Care project in Edmonton, AB!
Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends/ or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requires.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
- Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
- Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Organization and site clean up as per site HSE standards
Requirements:
- Preference will be given to Registered Carpenter Apprentices
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the construction industry
- Certifications needed, CSTS & WHMIS
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in multiple phases of construction, from foundation work to finishing
- Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada
