Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties
Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations Intermediate computer skills.

This pharmacy technician will be supporting pharmacy needs for OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park.
The schedule for this position is part time - 24 hours per week. The technician will be required to work a varied schedule of day shift and evening, night shift rotation, every other weekend, holiday rotation

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED
Licenses/Certifications: PHTC2 - Pharmacy Tech Certification (tracked by HR) Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification
Experience: At least 18 years of age Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year pharmacy.
Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
