Mano’s has been a staple of Saskatoon dining for over 40 years — known for quality, consistency, and a deep connection to community. We serve hundreds of guests every day with fresh, house-made food and warm, professional service.
We are currently seeking a Chef Designate — a skilled and mature kitchen professional with leadership experience who is ready to step into a pivotal role. This position is ideal for a strong Sous Chef or senior Line Cook who is ready to take the next step, or for a current Chef looking to join a high-performing, established kitchen team.
This is a career-track position with long-term potential — both as a support to our Chef and as a successor for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute daily kitchen operations in collaboration with the Chef
- Chef-in-charge when the Head Chef is away — lead service, manage staff, uphold standards
- Oversee prep, station setup, execution, and plating to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with training, coaching, and developing kitchen staff
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards at all times
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and waste control
- Help enforce systems and uphold the kitchen culture Mano’s is known for — respectful, efficient, and committed to excellence
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership in a high-volume kitchen — Sous Chef experience is an asset
- Strong culinary fundamentals and passion for food
- Ability to manage, motivate, and lead a diverse kitchen team
- Emotional maturity, reliability, and professionalism — leads by example
- Calm under pressure and organized in execution
- Interest in long-term growth and contributing to a healthy kitchen culture
- Available full-time
