Child and Youth Care Worker - Awake Night

Heritage Family Services is currently hiring experienced Child and Youth Care Workers for Awake Night shifts in programs located in Red Deer, Alberta.

Shifts: 4 days on / 4 days off rotation, 8-hour night shifts

About the Role:

The ideal candidate is often described as authentic, service-oriented, dependable, organized, and outgoing. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build healthy, supportive relationships with children in care are essential for success in this role.

Key Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Post-secondary education or current enrollment in Social Work or Human Services (certificate, diploma, or degree) is a strong asset

Required for employment:

Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector

Child Intervention Check

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License for 3 or more years in Canada

Driver’s Abstract with fewer than 6 demerits

Awareness and respect for Indigenous traditions and culturally appropriate care

Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse communities, identities, genders, and sexualities, including knowledge of appropriate terminology and pronouns

Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from marginalized backgrounds

A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months

Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver’s License for 3 or more years in Canada

A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months

Copy of education listed in resume.
