- Level 3 Children & Young Peoples Workforce Diploma with social care pathway

- NVQ 3 health & social care - Children and young people
- Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner
Qualified Salary: £15.00 per hour (Equivalent to £28,800) + £45.00 per sleep allowance
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent
Hours: 160 hours per month including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins – occasional waking night may be required.
Please Note: We also welcome applications for Qualified Waking Night positions, £15.00 per hour 2-3 12 hour shifts per week.

We're looking for a committed, compassionate Qualified Residential Support Worker to join our child-centred residential team, offering care that goes beyond the basics, care that builds futures.
Qualification we are looking for Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, experienced (minimum 2 years), and driven by purpose.
Your Role:
As a Residential Support Worker whether working day shifts with sleep-ins or dedicated waking nights you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the young people in our care.
Your responsibilities will include (Applicable to Both Roles):
- Building trusting relationships through patience, empathy and consistent care
- Supporting children with daily routines (or overnight routines for Waking Night staff)
- Implementing personalised care plans and contributing to regular reviews
- Supporting emotional regulation, resilience building, and therapeutic care
- Always safeguarding and responding appropriately to concerns
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation
- Promoting positive behaviour through restorative and child-centred approaches
- Supporting children to develop independence, confidence and life skills
- Participating in activities, cultural outings, or overnight support as applicable
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals
Waking Night Specifics:
- Providing a waking presence throughout the night, ensuring safety and support for children who may wake or need emotional reassurance
- Carrying out household tasks, checks, documentation and logs during quiet periods
- Maintaining a calm, regulated presence throughout the night
- Communicating effectively with the day team to ensure continuity of care
This is an emotionally demanding but deeply rewarding role, requiring a calm, thoughtful, and child-centred approach at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualification: Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare
- Experienced: At least 2 years working with children, young people and their families in a care or support setting
- Skilled Communicator: Able to engage effectively and work collaboratively with young people, families, and multi-agency professionals
- IT Proficient: Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to write and edit reports, care plans and professional communications
- Approachable & Professional: Emotionally intelligent, consistent, and values-driven
- Full Driving Licence is required: Transporting young people, to and from education, activities, hobbies and independent time is required.

- Are resilient and able to manage the emotional demands of working with young people who may display challenging behaviour
- Can remain calm and regulated, especially in high-stress or crisis situations
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, and are able to present information clearly and professionally
- Have experience or awareness of attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and safeguarding principles
- Can take initiative and work independently, but also value teamwork and collaborative decision-making
- Are proactive in developing your own practice, open to feedback, and committed to learning
- Are reliable, consistent, and can offer emotional containment to young people
- Have a good sense of humour, warmth and a genuine commitment to making a difference
