Job Description
Under the direct supervision of an RN carries out quality patient care from ages newborn to geriatric as well as Transitions-Post Acute Care (T-PAC) on an assigned unit according to hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitation of job scope, assuring patient comfort. Assures patient/family needs are met. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Provides for open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physician and other units.
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, carries out quality patient care according to hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitations of job scope.
- Participates in nursing reports by receiving and contributing to status reports of patients.
- Assists staff nurse with physical care of patients
- Assists staff nurses with patient monitoring and records observations accurately.
- Maintains skill level required to care for routine patients.
- Recognizes and appropriately reports changes in patient condition to the responsible nurse.
- Assures that Patient/Family needs are met.
- Makes rounds of the patient rooms and documents accordingly
- Assists with or transports patients as necessary.
- Recognizes and responds to priorities in patient care.
- Maintains timely documentation in EHR
- Completion of a state certified training program.
- CNA required or eligible within 60 days or FT student enrolled in RN or LPN Transcripts must be on file.
- At least one year's relevant experience preferred.
- BLS required or eligible within 60 days.
