Job Title: Control Desk Analyst
Location: New York City / Hybrid/Remote

FMX Futures Exchange is an emerging futures market regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. It is part of the FMX electronic markets initiative launched by BGC Partners in November 2021.
Control Desk staff must possess the ability to address time-sensitive problems and emergencies that emerge from FMX systems and system users. Will work with other staff at FMX and will communicate directly with market participants. Control desk staff will have an awareness of Exchange and FCM operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor FMX markets looking for potential market anomalies or disruptions
- Address time-sensitive problems and emergencies in FMX systems and markets
- Document and reaction to market alerts and regulatory service provider inquiries
- Document and react to participant and customer inquiries and complaints about market activities, including communication, resolution, and/or escalation
- Assist with investigations of potential infractions and/or to help resolve issues
- Liaise with participants and customers regarding setup and maintenance
- Ensure proper market open and close, and perform manual operational procedures as needed
- Run and publish any reports that require manual intervention
- Ensure that periodic regulatory reports are flowing properly, troubleshoot and/or escalate as needed
- Administer parameters and configurations for systems and client reference data as needed
- Identify areas of technical and process improvement for control desk operation and tool
Qualifications:
- 5 years of futures industry experience
- 3 years’ experience as an employee of a U.S. futures exchange
- Previous employment with an exchange or FCM in a control capacity (e.g. compliance, operations, risk management)
- Experience in resolving customer claims and disputes relating to real-time trading activities
- Experience in helping to resolve system conditions that affect market integrity
- Able to act quickly in resolving time-sensitive issues regarding trades and related transactions including trade error resolution
- Management/Supervisory experience is preferred
- Existing contact with FCM operation and credit/compliance staff
- Knowledge of various classes of commodity futures including interest rates, commodities, currencies, and equities
- Ability to work evening or overnight shifts a plus
NOTE: 2:00PM – 10:00PM OR 10:00PM – 6:00AM Sunday to Thursday
Training will initially be conducted onsite. However, once training is complete, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home, as this is a night shift position.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Salary: $80,000- $120,000
The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
