Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook/ Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment. No late night shifts and no early morning shifts, be home by 6:30 every night! Work 4 days and get 3 days off!
Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, stocks, and other components as needed.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils.
- Collaborate with chefs to assist in menu planning and execution.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Support catering operations by preparing large quantities of food as required.
- Follow all food safety protocols to ensure quality and freshness of ingredients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations.
- Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in the culinary field.
- Experience as a dietary aide or in menu planning is a plus.
