Custodian/Janitor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role involves performing custodial duties, including industrial cleaning, floor care, and general maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping and mopping to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Execute industrial cleaning tasks as needed to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
• Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are stocked and in good working condition.
• Provide porter services by moving furniture or equipment as required for maintenance activities.
• Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to ensure safety.

Skills

• Proven experience in custodial services or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is essential.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 36 per week
