Direct Support Professional

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives while maintaining their dignity and independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disabilities and possess a strong understanding of various care needs.

Duties

• Insure that that clients are bathing, grooming, and dressing themselves by verbal prompting.
• Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Foster a supportive environment that encourages social interaction and community involvement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in condition while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with home community care settings and long-term care environments is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
• A background in nursing or social work may be beneficial but is not required.
• A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
