DISPATCHER
Department: Transportation – Trucking Office
Location: Corporate HQ – Cerritos, CA

Position Summary
Ecology Auto Parts, Inc., a leader in transportation and logistics, is hiring two Dispatchers to support our Trucking Operations at the Cerritos Corporate Office. These roles are critical to ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely coordination of our fleet operations across multiple routes and regions.
We are looking for motivated individuals with prior dispatch experience in the transportation/logistics industry. Successful candidates will be highly organized, clear communicators, and adept at juggling high call/email volumes in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. You’ll serve as the direct liaison between drivers, internal departments, and external customers to ensure operational excellence and top-tier delivery performance.
Responsibilities
Driver Coordination & Load Planning
- Assign drivers to scheduled loads based on availability, proximity, and route optimization
- Communicate job details, expectations, and special instructions to drivers clearly and promptly

Ensure drivers remain on track and on time with assigned delivery schedules
- Serve as the central contact for real-time driver support, route adjustments, and emergency coverage
- Provide timely status updates to internal departments, such as billing, customer service, and safety teams

Respond to driver, customer, and operational inquiries with urgency and professionalism
- Utilize dispatch and GPS tracking systems to monitor fleet movements and delivery progress

Maintain accurate records of assignments, load updates, and driver logs in digital systems
- Troubleshoot service issues (e.g., breakdowns, route closures, driver delays) with a solutions-oriented mindset

Escalate time-sensitive or critical issues to leadership to prevent operational delays or service failures
- Ensure all dispatch paperwork, driver check-ins, load sheets, and delivery confirmations are completed and filed correctly

Prepare and submit end-of-shift handoff reports and performance notes
Requirements
Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
- REQUIRED: Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatch operations within the transportation, trucking, or logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of local/regional routes, DOT regulations, and commercial vehicle compliance
- Proficient in dispatch software systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure, high-volume setting

Reliable, punctual, and self-directed with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving
- Primarily office-based in the Trucking Department at the Cerritos Corporate Headquarters
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and communication systems
- Prolonged periods of sitting and screen use
- May occasionally require lifting boxes or documents up to 25 pounds

Standard business and/or night shift hours with occasional extended hours during peak demand
Day Shift:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (DOE)
- Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM

Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour (DOE)
The Dispatcher position offers an appealing compensation package, with a competitive hourly pay range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour for the Day Shift and $20.00 to $22.00 per hour for the Night Shift, depending on experience (DOE).
