Job Description

THE FAMILY | This loving, warm, and hardworking family seeks a Nanny Educator to join their team of ROTA nannies to care for their two-year-old boy. The new nanny will work at least four to five days a week, 12-hour shifts that can fall on weekdays or weekends. The nature of this role is to educate, nurture, and develop the young boy’s mind. Ideally, replicating a preschool environment, creating a curriculum/learning plan, and age-appropriate enrichment activities, wherever the family may be located.

This position requires great flexibility and the ability to travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally - this happens frequently throughout the year for the mother’s work.

THE TODDLER | He is a happy, healthy, easy-going toddler who loves engagement and play. He is the epitome of a toddler—active, curious, playful, and learning to navigate the world. He is learning English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. He is ready for the next stage of learning - he needs the stimulation and is showing signs that he’s eager to learn more. There are no known allergies or dietary restrictions.

THE JOB DETAILS | Provide exceptional day-to-day care to the boy and incorporate educational activities and learning opportunities into his daily routine. Develop age-appropriate learning plans, implement enriching activities, observe and assess his development, communicate and partner with parents and other nannies, provide academic support, promote positive behavior, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment.

Proactively support all aspects of his care, including but not limited to the day-to-day flow, following/establishing routines, general hygiene/cleanliness, meal/dinner preps, dishes, bottle washing, restocking items, laundry, tidying/picking up after yourself and the boy, packing up his belongings for travel, unpacking when returning, coordinating age-appropriate activities when traveling, etc.

THE REQUIREMENTS | A minimum of five years of experience working for high-profile families caring for toddlers or young children, and a minimum of five years as a preschool teacher. A degree or certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education. Stellar references from previous employers. CPR/First Aid Certification in Pediatrics and Adults. Vaccinations: any the doctor recommends for being around young children -TDAP, flu, COVID.

Ability to work alongside parents, nannies, and other household staff while understanding professional and personal boundaries. Flexible attitude. Discretion at all times. Signing an NDA is required for this role. Clear background/driving record. CPR certified. TrustLine Registered. The nanny needs reliable transportation to and from work.

Travel is required, both domestically and internationally (passport ready). All three nannies travel with the family. Sometimes, the family rotates, taking one or two nannies and giving the remaining one a few days off. Willingness to adjust to new schedules, destinations, and situations readily, as travel plans can change frequently. Due to the travel requirements, this role is best suited for someone with minimal outside/personal obligations.

Occasional overnights may be required. The boy receives 24/7 care, so the schedule includes both day and overnight shifts. The Nanny Educator will mostly work days but may be asked to help at night. They must be able to work at least four to five 12-hour shifts a week, possibly more. The days can be weekdays or weekends.

The ability to lift 25 to upwards of 50 pounds multiple times throughout the day. The consistent energy to keep up and adhere to the family’s travel commitments. Active and energetic to keep up with an equally active and energetic toddler.

A degree or certificate in Early Childhood Education or Development. Loves teaching young children. Has a creative and engaging teaching method. Can create lesson plans or curriculum. Loves being a Nanny Educator. Knows how to nurture and stimulate young minds in an enriching way. Has a minimum of five years of experience working as a preschool teacher.

Loves working with young children. Has a minimum of five years of experience working as a professional nanny for high-profile families. Has experience caring for young boys and working within a team of nannies. Has previous experience traveling with families. Comfortable signing an NDA. Thrives in busy environments.

Strong work ethic. Team player. Respect professional/personal boundaries. Strong command of English, written and verbal. A second language is a perk - Spanish or ASL.

Enthusiastic. Reliable. Consistent. Communicative. Loves traveling. Excellent organizational skills. Positive and patient demeanor.

Has a flexible schedule. Can travel with the family (The travel length varies from one week to a few months. The family may rotate travel commitments between the nannies.)

Enjoys working with a team of nannies. Willing to work a minimum of four to five long days a week - 12 hours a day. Flexible to work day or night shifts if required. Ability to make a long-term commitment, ideally 1 to 2 years, possibly longer.

THE SCHEDULES | The family needs their Nanny Educator to be available Monday through Sunday. The nanny will work 12-hour shifts at least four to five days a week, sometimes more. The schedule is provided a month in advance. The new Nanny Educator is being added to the rotation because one of the nannies is retiring early next year and the boy is ready for his next stage of development.

Generally, the shifts are 12 hours each and can be day or night. The Nanny Educator will primarily work day shifts due to the nature of the role. There may be times they’ll be asked to stay overnight instead of working a day shift. Flexibility is strongly required in this role. The length of the shifts may vary during travel or specific times of the year.

This role requires the team of nannies to be available throughout the year, including the holiday season. Not all nannies will work every major holiday but expect to work at least three throughout the year.

THE TRAVEL | The mom travels a lot for work. When she does, she takes the entire team with her. All travel, room, and board expenses are paid, including all hours worked. All nannies will work their guaranteed hours and may occasionally be required to work additional hours.

As mentioned throughout, travel commitments can range from a few days to a few months at a time. This is a massive part of the role. Please apply only if you can travel freely for various periods throughout the year.

The family will be traveling internationally for three months starting in September 2025.

THE RATE | $40 per hour. Guaranteeing a minimum of 40 hours a week. Paid leave.

THE START DATE | July/August 2025
