As a small, very early stage team in a largely unstructured environment, the ability to independently orient yourself to the problems that need to be solved and then follow through is essential.
We are looking for an engineering technician to work on the night shift. The technician's role will be to help process wafers and maintain tools. This role offers exposure to working in small scale microfabrication environment dealing with semiconductor tools. The ideal candidate will learn the basics of many different areas. Hours are flexible, but will primarily be in the evening/night and one day per weekend.
Role responsibilities:
- Process wafers and run tools such as lithography, deposition and inspection
- Do preventative maintenance on tools such as vacuuming, cleaning and changing chemicals

Inspecting and recording process results
- This is a night shift position and you must be comfortable working alone with no supervision
- Some exposure to physics or engineering
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn quickly
- Fluency in English

Some exposure to semiconductor tools preferred
For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands. The base salary range for this full-time position is $25-$45 per hour + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
