Responsibilities
- Preparation and production of menu items for Harold’s Kitchen & Bar, catering, banquets & in-room dining
- Follows all food safety procedures to ensure guest and associates health
- Ensures that sanitation, hygiene and safety standards for proper food storage and handling are met
- Finds creative solutions to guest requests
- Ensures a safe working environment through proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards
- Assists the culinary team with various food preparation tasks
- Leads the line Cooks when manager is not on duty
- Informs Chef immediately of any equipment that is broken or requires maintenance
- Performs other tasks assigned by management
Requirements
- Must be available to work from 6am-2:30pm and 2:30pm-11pm on mainly Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, other days as required
- Must have flexible availability to work a variety of shifts throughout the week: day, afternoon, evenings, statutory holidays, weekends, as needed.
- A sincere passion for the culinary arts and prides themselves on creating inspiring dishes using local ingredients
- A Red Seal certification or is in the process of achieving designation
- Successful completion of a diploma in culinary arts, or comparable academic achievement a big asset
- Is excited by an energetic, fast-paced environment
- Understanding that success lies in working together and enjoys working in a team
- Experience working in similar size restaurants and/ or hotels
- Is excited to belong to a team of caring, warm, energetic Team Members
