Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
- Applicants local to the Rainy River District will be given priority.
- Working with the Utilities Supervisor to oversee the Fuel and Lube team
- Ensure mining equipment is fueled and lubricated in a safe and orderly fashion
- Operate fuel and lube trucks, adhering to all safety protocols
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a clean and orderly manner
- Washing mining equipment and components as directed
- Train other fuel and lube personnel in the safe operation of mobile equipment and the fuel bay
- Must have a valid G or G2 Driver's License
- Must be willing to drive themselves to and from site
- Previous experience fueling vehicles or heavy equipment considered essential
- Experience in operating commercial fuel truck an asset
- Experience working around large heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead/motivate a team
- Ability to understand and follow Safety Operating Practices
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Aptitude to demonstrate safety procedures is essential in this role
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and signage
- Ability to think and act decisively
- Ability to perform physical labour
- Ability to work independently
- Exposure to unpleasant weather-related conditions such as cold, heat, rain, and snow
- Exposure to different work schedules including night shifts
- Access to their own transportation
- Work involves highly repetitive tasks including lifting
