Full Time night cook IHOP Glenstone

Looking for a full-time night cook to join the IHOP team on S. Glenstone in Springfield! Currently open until 2AM and looking for a team to bring us back to 24 hours!

Experienced cooks or those comfortable in the kitchen preferred however we are willing to train the right person!

Cooks must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be able to move around the kitchen quickly and safely, and be a very good multi-tasker to deliver timely dishes. The goal is to deliver delicious looking and tasting dishes consistently to keep and enhance our IHOP reputation.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Skills

• Proven experience as a cook
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team

Specific Functions and Duties:

• Prepares menu items according to IHOP’s Recipes,
• Plate-presentations and specifications.
• Completes all assigned prep work.
• Sets up work station according to station diagram.
• Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
• Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during and after shift.
• Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects.

Qualification Standards:

• Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
