Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Attendant to join our team. This role is essential in providing support during one of the most challenging times in people's lives. The Funeral Attendant will assist with various tasks related to funeral services, ensuring that families receive the utmost care and respect. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to handle physical demands of the job.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of funeral services, including arranging flowers, caskets, and other necessary items.
- Provide bereavement support to grieving families, offering comfort and assistance as needed.
- Help with the transportation of deceased individuals in a respectful manner.
- Coordinate logistics for funeral events, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
- Engage with families and guests during visitations and services, providing information and support as required.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to moving equipment or caskets as necessary.
- Collaborate with funeral directors in planning and executing services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in bereavement support or funeral directing is preferred but not required.
- Strong event planning skills to assist in organizing memorial services effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on empathy and understanding.
- Sales experience is a plus, particularly in helping families choose appropriate service options.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
