General Manager

We are a 60+ seat Argentinian Steakhouse inspired restaurant. Our vision is simple, it is to provide an exceptional quality menu and a flawless service at reasonable prices to give even the most discerning of diners a meal experience that they will want to repeat time and time again with their friends and families. Whilst the menu is led by the steaks, it is complemented by many other dishes to suit all tastes.

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to share our vision and to be an integral part of the team to drive it forward. We are looking for a Restaurant Manager with a proven track record who has extensive knowledge of all areas of the restaurant environment especially with the financial side and guest experience.

General duties (pulled from the full Job Description):

Reporting to the Head of Operations the primary responsibilities of the role are to have the overarching responsibility for the day to day restaurant operation. This includes:

• Run service within the restaurant all day, offering excellent service levels to all customers and coordinating continuously with the bar and kitchen team.
• Drive the commercial running of the Restaurant including managing payroll costs by writing the departmental rota, managing/ordering and general housekeeping.
• Instigate initiatives and drives which will improve footfall;
• Build a can do ethos amongst staff;
• Engage with other local businesses to have a meaningful, reciprocal realtionship for the good of all;
• To ensure that the restauring is legally compliant at all times, in all aspects;
• Liaise with external stakeholders in a timely manner to ensure that the restaurant runs smoothly at all times;
• Be directly responsible for and provide daily management of the restaurant team, and hosts, ensuring efficiency and the highest standards of service provision at all times.
• Implement training plans and deliver on-the-job training to drive the smoothest, most polished levels of customer service throughout the restaurant.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

· At least 3 years’ experience as an Restaurant Manager with experience in writing rotas, delivering training, and daily people management alongside stock ordering/rotation

· Enjoys and wants to be an active member of a team

· Somebody who leads by example

· Excellent verbal communication

· An understanding of what an amazing dining experience looks like and is driven to deliver this each and every time

· Great eye for detail

· Ability to work at pace and fully flexible with shift patterns

· Have the ambition to grow and develop with us and become an integral part of the company.

· Hold a current valid UK Driving Licence

Your leadership and enthusiasm for working within this restaurant will ultimately lead to your success within our business. You will have the desire and motivation to engage the whole team in delivering the exceptional service consistently. You will oversee both front and back of house operations whilst working closely with The Head of Operations to develop the restaurant in an ongoing forward thinking way.

The appointment is subject to receipt of appropriate references and a successful probationary period.

Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
