Health Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the highest standards of care. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously while maintaining a warm and friendly environment for our residents.

Duties

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Support the implementation of care plans tailored to each individual’s needs.
• Monitor and report any changes in patients' conditions to the healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist in administering medication as directed by qualified staff.
• Document patient progress and any relevant information accurately in IT systems.
• Drive patients to appointments or activities as required.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to understand and follow care plans effectively.
• Proficient in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
• A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients when necessary.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.30 per hour

Expected hours: 33 per week
