We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Wakefield, a Category A male prison in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Work within the Inpatients Unit, looking after patients who are too unwell to be on the wings, including mental health patients
- Deliver various types of care across the unit - social care, end of life, palliative, personal care etc
- Respond to emergency situations as required when working nights
- Support with PEG feeds, dressings, bloods, ECGs etc
- Carry out risk assessments and care planning
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- You will support the registered nurse in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery

We are looking for caring, compassionate but also driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for a fair and inclusive healthcare access to all.
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care - this is not essential
- Have care experience, whether from a hospital, secure setting or a care home
- Any clinical knowledge (bloods, ECGs etc) would be a bonus
