We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will assist with daily activities, implement care plans, and communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Monitor and document changes in patients' conditions and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the care home or home environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive to various locations if required for home care assignments, ensuring safe transport of equipment as needed.
- Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles that involve travelling to patients' homes.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others is essential.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
