Houseparent for student dormitory

William Academy is looking for outgoing, cooperative, and friendly individuals to be our school dormitory houseparents (night shifts and/or day shifts).

Night shifts are required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Night shifts require houseparents to sleep on premise overnight (within school dormitories).

Day shifts are required on weekends and holidays.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Act as a strong role model for students in our residence through regular interactions
• Monitor security cameras and regularly tour premises
• Shut off all lights and lock rooms at night
• Perform room checks to ensure safety of the students and all persons in the residence
• Perform room checks for student health and cleanliness
• Provide clear expectations for students and an effective structure of discipline for minor infractions of dormitory rules, identify students who do not follow the rules to school staff.
• Note and report any repairs needed in the school and notify the school operation manager of any situation which might threaten health or safety.
• Any other duties assigned by the school.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: $150.00 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cobourg, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)
