The 3rd Shift Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials, ingredients, and finished goods are properly accounted for during overnight operations. This role plays a key part in supporting production flow, minimizing downtime, and maintaining food safety and quality standards in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nightly cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and document variances in the inventory management system.
- Monitor movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods between production, warehouse, and staging areas.
- Record all inventory transactions accurately in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Conduct regular audits of storage locations to ensure compliance with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and food safety standards.
- Communicate inventory shortages, overages, or quality issues to supervisors and production teams promptly.
- Ensure materials are labeled, stored, and handled in accordance with food safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Collaborate with forklift drivers and production operators to maintain efficient product flow.
- Assist with end-of-month or quarterly physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 1–2 years of inventory or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and basic computer skills (Excel, data entry).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a night shift.
- Understanding of food safety principles, GMP, and traceability.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.
- Work in refrigerated or ambient temperature environments as needed.
- Regular exposure to production noise and warehouse activity.
Salary range : $21.00 = $23.65 per hour (plus shift premium)
