Janitor - Night Shift
Full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hours per week
Pay: $19.50 hourly, with additional $0.75 hourly differential pay for night shift
Shift: Wednesday – Sunday, 5 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., and special events as assigned
The Job
To clean and maintain various areas of the museum as assigned.
In this role, you will….
- Keeps assigned areas of the building clean and orderly by doing some or all of the following functions:
- Vacuums carpet
- Empties waste baskets and collects paper for the recycling bin
- Cleans bathrooms
- Cleans glass and brass with proper cleaning products
- Maintains and cleans floors using proper floor care products, machines, and techniques
- Keeps work area orderly and keeps all equipment clean
- Performs minor maintenance on cleaning equipment or notifies Building Services Manager if repair work is required

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned, including during special events outside of regular schedule
You are able to work independently. Have excellent attention to detail. You have team skills and the ability to work effectively and positively with staff and all other internal and external contacts.
Specific Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior maintenance experience
- Strong experience with wood and marble floor maintenance

Experience operating floor machines
Equipment Operated: shampoo machine, vacuum cleaner, walk-behind auto scrubber, riding scrubber, etc.
