Job Overview
We are seeking a capable Line Cook/Prep Cooks to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in the kitchen and a strong understanding of food preparation and safety practices. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall production goals of frozen French fries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook items according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepare food, including washing, peeling, cutting, blanching, frying, freezing and packing of ingredients using commercial machines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper food storage.
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure all food handling procedures are adhered to.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure production goals are met.
- Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
- Support the team in daily operations and contribute ideas for process enhancements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment or food manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Knowledge and comfort of using commercial and industrial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn new culinary techniques is highly valued.
- A valid food handler certification is an asset.
- Capable of lifting up to 40lbs repeatedly, 50lbs periodically.

Job Types: Casual
Pay: $17.75-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 24 per week if/when shift is scheduled
This Occasional shift schedules may arise during the weekends, Saturday and Sunday during 10am-10:30pm and On call with normally 6-12 hour shift times. Occasional weekday/weekend night shift 6pm-6:30am may arise.
Education:
- Completion of Secondary School minimum.
Experience:
- Cooking: at least 1 year (preferred)
Language:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Qualifications
- Culinary skills such as food preparation, cooking, using food processing machines
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
