We’re proud that Green by Nature has been selected to manage the Nelson City Council Open Space Contract. This exciting new chapter builds on a legacy of caring for Nelson’s stunning parks and reserves and we’d love for you to be part of it!
About the Role
We’re on the hunt for Facilities Operators (Rubbish and Refuse) to help keep Nelson’s parks and public spaces clean, tidy, and inviting.
In this role, your day-to-day will include:
- Emptying rubbish bins and picking up loose litter across assigned parks and reserves
- Following a regular run, you’ll have a set route, making your days predictable and straightforward
- This role is manually lifting rather than a vehicle operated rubbish truck so physical fitness is needed!
This is an important role that helps keep Nelson’s open spaces looking their best for the whole community to enjoy.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re after someone who’s reliable, motivated, and ready to roll up their sleeves. While experience is a bonus, it’s not essential - we’ll provide training for the right person.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A full, clean driver’s licence (manual driving skills required)
- Good physical fitness - this is an active, outdoor role
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- Basic computer and smartphone skills (handy for reporting tasks, timesheet submission and more)
- The ability to work independently and stay motivated without direct supervision
