Job Description
Qualifications for the Housing Support Staff position include a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in residential support, direct care, or other, relevant direct services.
Additional qualifications include understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services. Also required are strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; ability to work effectively with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and poverty is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
This temporary position is benefits-eligible on a partial basis, follows a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, and offers an hourly pay rate of $23.12.
As a direct service position in a 24/7 program, this position is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
