Maintenance & Painting Technician

Job Overview

Overview:

We’re looking for a dependable and hardworking Maintenance & Painting Technician to join our team. This role is essential to maintain the condition and upkeep of our passenger ferries through proper steel preparation and the application of marine coatings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare steel surfaces by grinding, feathering, and cleaning to prevent rust and ensure proper paint adhesion
• Apply marine paint using brushes and rollers
• Mix and prepare marine coatings according to manufacturer specifications
• Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in JLGs (aerial lifts)
• Perform general maintenance tasks as required
• Follow all safety protocols and keep workspaces clean and organized
• Work both independently and as part of a team

Requirements:

• Experience with steel prep and marine painting
• Knowledge of rust prevention and coating systems
• Skilled in the use of grinders, hand tools, brushes, and rollers
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
• Able to properly mix marine paint
• Willing to work day shifts, night shifts, or both as needed
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
• Physically fit and capable of working in various environmental conditions

Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

• Confined space entry certification
• Fall protection and lift operation training
• Experience in marine or industrial maintenance
