We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Mold Technician for our night shift. This role is based in Lynchburg, Virginia, and reports to the Mold Tooling Manager.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing mold changes. They ensure that the machines are operating efficiently, within designated parameters, meeting production schedules.
Job Type: Full-time, night shift
Work Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 to 4 days a week (including weekends - 36 hrs & 48 hrs per pay period)
Pay: $28.00 per hour
Requirements
- Comply with all company and statutory safety rules to ensure the wellbeing of all departmental employees
- Responsible for the housekeeping of designated working area/machines
- Continually inspect manufactured products both visually and dimensionally per quality plan
- Responsible for the startup of machines to manufacture products that meet or exceeds quality standards
- Monitor equipment and processes to detect problems affecting quality and efficiency; make appropriate adjustments to correct
- Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts within scope of position, making adjustments that ensure maximum efficiencies during shift operations
- Perform and document maintenance on equipment as required by maintenance plan
- Responsible for communicating mold conditions to the mold shop

Must understand the manufacturing processes and role in it
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Associate's degree in mechanical science from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience operating production equipment preferably of a similar nature required
- 2 years experience in Injection Molding Set Up
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- The employee is required to sit and climb or balance
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places
