Priory Hospital Newbury is looking to recruit a Night Mental Health Nurse to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role.
Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community. We also provide an acute service, for local male and female patients who are in crisis and require a short admission for support.
We are well-placed to accept patients who need higher levels of care and intensive therapeutic support, as well as those stepping down in acuity.
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

The ideal candidate would be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6–12 months post-registration experience, holding active NMC registration and having completed a preceptorship programme. Possesses sound knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, alongside evidence of post-registration continuing professional development. Demonstrates a positive attitude, commitment to change, improvement, and quality, with the ability to develop and apply flexible, innovative approaches to practice. Equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and with a minimum of six months’ experience working within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities care environment, supported by evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.

- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
