Overnight Newborn Care Specialist / Night Nanny in Zephyr Cove

Schedule: Overnight shifts (specific nights to be discussed)

A warm, family in Zephyr Cove is preparing to welcome their second child and is seeking an experienced and nurturing Night Nanny or Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to provide reliable overnight care for their newborn. We’ve previously placed a wonderful caregiver with this family when their now-2-year-old was born, and they’re excited to welcome another trusted professional to support them during this important transition.

This role is focused solely on the newborn; no care is expected for their toddler. Mom will be home and recovering postpartum, and the family is looking for someone calm, confident, and knowledgeable who can offer gentle, overnight care while helping everyone get the rest they need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide loving, attentive care to the newborn during overnight hours
• Support safe sleep, diapering, feeding (bottle or breast), and soothing
• Assist with feeding sessions and offer breastfeeding/lactation support if needed
• Track sleep, feedings, and diaper changes using detailed logs
• Offer newborn care guidance and sleep-shaping strategies if requested
• Maintain a quiet, calm, and organized nighttime environment

Light Baby-Related Housekeeping:

• Wash/sanitize bottles and pump parts
• Refresh linens if needed
• Keep nursery/sleeping areas tidy
• Baby laundry (if time permits)

Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ years of professional newborn/overnight care experience
• Knowledge of infant sleep, soothing techniques, and feeding routines
• Certified NCS, postpartum doula, or equivalent strongly preferred
• Familiar with infant safety and SIDS prevention
• Professional, respectful, and comfortable working in a home with parents present
• Patient, kind, and responsive to family needs and preferences
• Dog-friendly (family has one sweet dog)
