Night Porter

The Night Porter is an integral member of the facilities team, delivering a safe secure and clean working environment within Clan House and Accommodation. You will be responsible for carrying out all security, health and safety checks of Clan House and Accommodation from 8.00pm – 8.00am.

The Night Porter’s main duties will include providing regular security patrols, CCTV monitoring and signing in and out guests/visitors outwith opening hours. You will also be responsible for the cleaning of public areas and offices within Clan House and Accommodation overnight, as well as setting up meeting rooms.

The Night Porter will work closely with the Accommodation Team as well as the Facilities Team and will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Manage the Health & Safety of all staff, visitors, guests and clients at Clan House and Accommodation out-with opening hours.
• Have a presence within Clan House and Accommodation ensuring all guest requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively.
• Conduct regular security patrols of the facility and grounds to ensure guest safety and security and looking out for potential hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and, if necessary, report any incidents to the Police.
• Ensure all corridors are clear and means of fire escape are maintained at all times, snd that fire extinguishers and fire doors are secure.
• Respond to emergencies and act as part of the fire team by assisting with evacuations.
• Implement the emergency and out of hours response service when necessary.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injury and unsafe work conditions to Facilities Manager.
• Work with the Accommodation Team to assist in the smooth running of Clan Accommodation to enhance the guest experience at all times, providing assistance with signing in and out guests/visitors, breakfasts and room change overs if required.
• Clean, dust, hoover, mop and tidy public areas, offices, kitchens and toilets within Clan House and Accommodation on a nightly basis. This may also include the sanitisation and cleaning of desktop hardware.
• Empty waste/recycling bins, transporting waste to designated collection points.
• Preparation of meeting room setups for the following day as directed by the Facilities Team.
• Undertake facility inspections and report any maintenance problems or safety hazards. Respond to any maintenance issues raised by guests during the night.
• Carry out general facilities maintenance duties within Clan House and Accommodation.
• Conduct general administrative duties using Microsoft Office, internet explorer and property management system.
