Night Shipping Supervisor

Position name: Night Shipping Supervisor

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Job Purpose:

The Night Shipping Supervisor needs to be highly detailed and work well under pressure to coordinate lots of changing factors. Working with the Logistics Team, the Night Shipping Supervisor will ensure that trucks are loaded correctly, temperatures are correct, and product is undamaged.

• Monitor and oversee both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to make sure that everything that is shipped out is in perfect condition.
• Responsible for shipping staff following company policies and procedures, recommending coaching at the appropriate time.
• Review forklift and reach truck checks – report damage and contact suppliers for repairs.
• Working with production to ensure supplies are received and product kept at specified temperatures.
• Inspect loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications.
• Read shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents so as to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules.
• Carry out regular inventory reconciliation of supplied materials.
• Identify opportunities for enhancement and suggest ways of improvement to top management of the organization.
• Ensure trailer seal logs, driver logs, and other shipping paperwork is completed each day.
• May participate in hiring and training of new personnel for the company’s shipping department.
• Support the simplification and standardization of processes in a bid to enhance effectiveness.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5-year minimum experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient at working with Microsoft Excel and has ability to work with other software and GPS technology.
• Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Ability to solve problems and provide solutions.

Shift:

Monday thru Saturday 5:00pm-2:00am.

Overtime after 44 hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
