General Description
The Constituent Affairs Division (CAD) is the OAG's interface with the general public. Incoming contacts from the public, whether by phone, mail, or email, are received by CAD and are handled by CAD or routed elsewhere in the agency to be handled. This positions work involves responding to constituent contacts with the agency, assessing and answering constituent telephone inquiries and drafting constituent correspondence.

Essential Position Functions
Assesses and answers constituent telephone inquiries, provides information; refers and transfers callers to appropriate destination, including, but not limited to, divisions within the Office of the Attorney General, and various agencies and organizations contingent upon callers needs, and documents calls
Drafts constituent correspondence and related agency materials, research issues and determines appropriate response and referrals, composes or uses standard language, and revises correspondence when requested
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains Relevant Knowledge Necessary To Perform Essential Job Functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: call center, customer service, orexperience providing information services to the general public
Knowledge of state government
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in effective oral and written communication
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG workspace within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
Ability to provide writing sample (sample required at time of interview)
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
Ability to work 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Government, or a closely related discipline
Experience: Providing information services to the public, in research, writing, or public relations, web content management, general proficiency with personal computers
Ability to type 35 wpm
Other Language: Ability to proficiently ead, write, and speak Spanish
