NOTE: THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION (4:00 PM - 1:00 AM) and MANDATORY ON LOCATION

Duties
As an Operations Analyst for the Western Data Center (WDC), you will play a key role in maintaining, analyzing, and optimizing the operational health of state-run data center services. This role blends real-time systems monitoring with strategic resource management, technical support, and cross-team coordination. Your work ensures mission-critical infrastructure remains stable, secure, and aligned with statewide IT goals. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform daily systems monitoring and ensure peak efficiency of all platforms within the WDC scope.
- Respond to incidents swiftly with corrective action and inform management of critical and non-critical issues.
- Plan and allocate rack space and environmental resources, ensuring optimal server deployment.
- Assist in technical project planning, identifying risks, estimating timelines, and guiding success strategies.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, tailoring content and delivery to audience needs and objectives.
- Use ITIL-compliant processes for incident, change, and release management.
- Support OS configuration across Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms using standard deployment tools.
- Execute project implementation tasks and incorporate lessons learned into future planning.
- Maintain compliance with physical security standards, including access control and rack monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with Network and Telecom teams to support seamless connectivity across the WDC environment.
- Assist and support disaster recovery and business continuity exercises for mission-critical systems.

Support knowledge transfer by participating in staff training, documentation updates, and mentorship activities.
