The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.
Job Summary
The Payroll Assistant works under general supervision and focuses on learning USG payroll systems, quality assurance tasks, issue resolutions, assisting with client implementations, and other special projects. Assistance is provided to help set schedules and provide reports to management as well as other planning and coordination efforts with Payroll. This position supports the Shared Services Center in providing efficient and effective services to the institutions of the University System of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for payroll administration team.
- Process, support, and maintain reports related to payroll administration.
- Prepares and coordinates data for audits and legal compliance.
- Research institution and employee issues and resolve problems in an effective and timely manner.
- Work with payroll and other departments to maintain data integrity and to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Assists with the day-to-day administration issues
- Provide accurate and up-to-date communication materials
- Facilitate meetings and assist with presentations
- Works with manager to create tools for payroll
- Provide output data and reporting upon request
- Serve as backup to Payroll Team as needed

Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
This position requires a bachelor's degree and one year of Payroll
Administration experience, or any equivalent combination of education,
experience, and training which provides the necessary knowledge and
skills.
- Day and overnight travel from headquarters may be required occasionally
- Occasional overtime will be required
- Must have a valid GA Driver's License
