Personal Support Worker - WEEKEND AVAILABILITY

Peak Home Health Care is a home-based care agency that is looking for passionate Care-givers to join our growing team. We have many exciting opportunities and room for growth for those looking to become Full-time if they wish.

At Peak Home Health Care we provide seniors with direct one-on-one care and also help staff our six partnered resident facilities (located in Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington). Staffing shifts are always in high demand as we do not staff any jobs under 4 hours! To be a regular casual worker with Peak we ask all casual or on-call employees to pick up a minimum of 1 shift every two weeks.

As a Personal Support Worker at Peak you will be in charge of providing companion and personal care services to clients according to the established “Plan of Care” or as directed by Care Coordinator. Such services involve assisting clients with various activities of daily living.

Duties and Responsibilities

• provide personal care to clients according to “Plan of Care” or Care Cordinator
• report and take instructions directly from supervisor of staff
• participate in internal training sessions
• maintain confidentiality of client information
• document client condition on an ongoing basis and report any risks or concerns to supervisor immediately
• adhere to Peak Home Health Care policies and procedures
• ideally have at least 1 year of direct client/patient care experience in homecare, community, hospital or long-term care.
• possess valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
• possess a Cleared Police Background Check for the Vulnerable Sector
• TB Test (2 Step Mantoux) or Chest X-Ray
• access to car a definite asset
• flexibility and availability to work overnight or weekend shifts
• strong Communication skills and ability to read, write and follow verbal or written instructions
• training and experience with Dementia Care and Alzheimers a definite asset

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited PSW program or related community service diploma from a recognized program, or a nursing student enrolled in 2nd year of higher in a recognized nursing program (2 years of placement completed).

• DRIVERS LICENSE and DRIVES
• Speaks or understand Filipino / Tagalog

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
