Are you passionate about English and dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals? We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable tutors to join our team in Belfast. If you have strong experience teaching or tutoring English at the post-primary level and are confident with the Northern Ireland curriculum, we’d love to hear from you!
Your Role:
- Deliver engaging one-on-one or small group English tutoring sessions in person
- Support students from Key Stage 3 up to GCSE and A-Level (as applicable)
- Develop personalised lesson plans to target learning gaps and boost confidence
- Track student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Educated to degree level, preferably in English or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year’s teaching or tutoring experience at post-primary level
- Strong knowledge of the Northern Ireland post-primary English curriculum
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and inspire student engagement
- Professional, reliable, and approachable manner
- Patient and supportive, especially with students facing challenges
Preferred:
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS)
- Experience working with students with additional learning needs
What to Expect:
- A brief teaching demonstration will be part of the application process
- Commitment of at least one year is preferred
- All tutoring is conducted in person at students’ homes in Belfast or surrounding areas
- This is a self-employed role
Key Details:
- Pay: £20–£30 per hour (depending on lesson type and level)
- Hours: 4 to 25 hours per week (flexible schedule including weekdays and weekends)
- Requirements: UK bank account, right to work in Northern Ireland, enhanced AccessNI check (or willingness to obtain)
