Post-Primary Science Tutor – Belfast

Do you have a passion for Science and the skills to inspire young minds? We are seeking knowledgeable and dependable Science tutors to join our team in Belfast. If you have experience teaching or tutoring at the post-primary level and are confident with the Northern Ireland Science curriculum, we’d love to hear from you!

Your Role:

• Deliver in-person, one-on-one or small group Science tutoring sessions
• Support students from Key Stage 3 up to GCSE and A-Level (as applicable)
• Create tailored lesson plans to address learning needs and build confidence
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches as required
• Maintain open communication with parents or guardians

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Educated to degree level, preferably in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or a related field
• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience at the post-primary level
• Strong knowledge of the Northern Ireland post-primary Science curriculum
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and make learning engaging
• Professional, dependable, and approachable
• Patient and supportive, especially with students who find Science challenging

Preferred:

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS)
• Experience working with students with additional learning needs

What to Expect:

• A brief teaching demonstration will be part of the application process
• Commitment of at least one year is preferred
• All tutoring is conducted in person at students’ homes in Belfast or nearby areas
• This is a self-employed role

Key Details:

• Pay: £20–£30 per hour (depending on lesson type and level)
• Hours: 4 to 25 hours per week (flexible schedule including weekdays and weekends)
• Requirements: UK bank account, right to work in Northern Ireland, enhanced AccessNI check (or willingness to obtain)
