Power Engineer - Medicine Hat, AB
- Responsible for reporting ISO and environmental aspects pertaining to the powerhouse.
- Completes/assists with annual self audit and other reports as required.
- Contributes to completing monthly energy reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains and updates operating procedures and MSDS.
- Testing and maintenance documentation as assigned for pressure vessel NDT, safety relief valves, backwater flow valves, etc.
- Maintains maintenance records for boilers, air compressors and other equipment.
- Monitors proper inventory of water treatment and testing chemicals, lubricants, and spare parts.
- Active participation in continuous improvement activities.
- Troubleshoots all powerhouse issues on a pro-active basis.
- Participates in weekend coverage rotation.
- 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (4th Class considered with significant experience/demonstrated progress towards 3rd Class certification).
- Experience in a powerhouse operation.
- Knowledge of steam plant operating systems, boiler feedwater treatment and testing, air compressor and vacuum pump systems.
- Positive attitude.
- Good attendance record.
- Good safety record.
- Current pay rate is: $43.13/hr (3rd Class), $39.18/hr (4th Class.)
- 7 day/12 hour (continental schedule) consisting of 12 hour shifts with day/night rotation. 42 hour average per week.
- Night shift premium at $0.90/hr
