Job Overview: Become a “Nurturing Nanny” at Nurny!

At Nurny we are looking for energetic and caring individuals to supervise children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental diagnoses (i.e., autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, Down syndrome, global developmental delay, etc.). We are seeking caring and experienced professionals who enjoy spending time with kids and helping them lead more independent lives. The successful applicant will be responsible for engaging children in fun, developmentally appropriate activities, following through with therapeutic interventions, and utilizing individualized communication strategies.

This is a long-term position, part-time hours position

The successful applicant must have availability Monday-Friday 1:30pm - 7:00pm Additionally, the applicant should be able to drive to/from Oakland and have at least 6 months experience working with children with neurodevelopmental needs.

Start Date: August 11
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (though start/end times can be flexible) /Wednesday: 3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. /Occasional weekend or evening/date night care

A loving family in Oakland is seeking a patient, reliable, and experienced caregiver for their 9-year-old son. He is minimally verbal and communicates primarily through scripts and quotes, but is generally able to express his needs. He thrives with caregivers who are calm, consistent, and engaged.

Responsibilities:

Daily care and supervision in the afternoons

Pick-up from school or program (local driving required)

Support with playdates and activities

Assist with toileting needs as required

Light meal/snack prep during care hours

Occasional weekend or evening babysitting

Ideal Candidate:

Experience with children with autism, neurodivergent or are non-verbal preferred

Patient, attentive, and consistent in routines

Comfortable with occasional behavioral challenges

Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to get certified)

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ to 5 years of experience
  • Caring for 1 child at a time
  • College degree
  • Light Meal Preparation, Light Housekeeping

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
