Job Description
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of production process flow and HACCP requirements
- Inspects products for non-conformities and corrects and informs Supervisor of any issues or concerns
- Ensures smooth change overs and uninterrupted flow of product
- Knowledge of equipment and product changeovers in a busy manufacturing environment
- Coordinate personnel to staff lines according to productivity and department standards to meet schedule deadlines
- Ensures production is following all GMP/SSOP requirements
- Provides coaching and constructive guidance to team members and trainees on correct methods and procedures
- Communicates department issues to the area Team Leaders and Supervisors
- Enforce all safety rules and procedures (i.e., General housekeeping, safety policies, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment requirements, etc.)
- Maintains clean, sanitary, and safe work area and enforces safe work practices (checks welfare areas once daily i.e., washes floors during breaks & empties trash)
- Maintains knowledge and complies with OSHA, USDA, HACCP and GMP requirements to ensure team and food safety within the work environment
- Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed

Completes required logs, production forms and reports as required and as assigned
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or combination of education and previous work experience
- Working knowledge of and/or the ability to learn processing equipment and understand the
- Ability to reason and solve problems, be self-motivated, and have strong leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and food safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; to communicate effectively in written and spoken English (Spanish is a plus!)
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations such as machine speeds, pounds per hour, and to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume; to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds

Open to performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to refrigerated and wet conditions of the Production area with a noise level in the plant that is usually moderately loud
