Alivia Medical Inc. is currently looking for reliable, compassionate, & skilled Registered Nurses to join our growing team to work in a Detention Centre in Thorold. Available to work night shifts. Must have two years experience as RN.

Candidates must have:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program
• Current registration with the provincial licensing body in good standing
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
• A valid provincial driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Cell phone, access to a computer & internet
• Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check within 6 months
• Health clearance (immunizations, TB test)
• Flexible availability weekdays and some weekends
• Previous employment experience in healthcare is an asset
• 2 years experience being a nurse minimum

In this role you will:

• Conduct health assessments for the purposes of triage and on-going care
• Plan for and provide health care treatment
• Monitor adherence to treatment plans and response to health care interventions
• Liaise with community care providers to obtain health histories and to facilitate transitional care at discharge for both remand and intermittent inmates
• Participate in case management
• Work collaboratively as a member of the inter-professional team to develop, implement and evaluate patient-specific plans of care

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed

Language:

• French (preferred)
