About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Inpatient Ward (Ward 23). The hours of work will be 0.8FTE, working rostered rotating shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
We invite you to join our Cancer Nursing team.
Cancer nursing in this setting is centred on patient focused nursing care and support, enhancing the coordination, continuity and collaboration of the multi-disciplinary team within the Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS).
The Ward 23 RN is responsible for the nursing care in Ward 23 for the specialties of Clinical Haematology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. Our nursing team is integral to the care provided in these specialist areas (receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, palliative care and supportive treatment).
As a nurse in Ward 23, you will have the opportunity to support patients during a challenging period in their lives, making a significant impact on their experience. You will develop specialized oncology skills and have the chance to advance to senior clinical and leadership positions, such as nurse specialists. You'll be part of a supportive team with a great sense of humour.
While working in oncology can be daunting, the human aspect of cancer care makes it deeply meaningful. We are dedicated to providing support and ongoing professional development.

About you
You will be expected to have, or work towards CVAD certification and chemotherapy administration competence within the first six months of employment – full support will be given to achieve this.
