Position Summary
The Medical Unit is currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse to join their healthcare team.
Effective Date: November 03, 2025
Ending on or before Date: October 05, 2026
Department/Unit/Program Description
The Medical Inpatient Unit is an acute care unit supported by a patient-centered multi-disciplinary team which respects patients' confidentiality, rights, and choices. All patients requiring medical care can be admitted to the medical program. The most common types of patients admitted to the unit are: acute coronary syndromes (heart attacks, angina), congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, and pneumonia.

Essential Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Registration
- Current C.P.R. Certification, on hire
- Certified in tracheotomy suctioning, continuous bladder maintenance and simple dressings
- Demonstrated ability to deal co-operatively and effectively with all levels of staff and the public
- Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
- Current medication course for R.P.N.
- Must be compliant with College of Nurses Quality Assurance Standards
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Trained in EPIC - training can be provided, but must pass required testing
Hours of Work
Must be available to work twelve [12] hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
