Shift: Night

Working Hours: 7pm-7am

Summary:
  • A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
  • A Labor and Delivery Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to women and their infants before, during, and after birth. The Labor and Delivery Nurse assists the physician with all aspects of pregnancy and birth, assists the surgeons during cesarean sections, and cares for women who experience complications with their pregnancies or birth processes. The nursing roles during this phase focus on assessing the patient and developing a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological, educational/health literacy, sociocultural and spiritual needs of the patient and family. The Labor and Delivery nurse should be meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • You should be caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable on all aspects of pregnancy, labor, and birth, as well as post-pregnancy care, complications and treatments.

Other information:

A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse in good standing, and licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred. Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care. Is able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team. Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training is provided. Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.

This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
